President Truman announces Japan’s surrender. I thought this was another interesting shot involving reporters and a turning point in history. Look at the ones up front with their notepads ready, how attentive everyone in the room is, and how manypeople are in the room.

This is a little different than the pictures we normally share here but I thought it was interesting. This is a group of White House reporters “dashing” to the telephones after first being notified that the Japanese had attacked Pearl Harbor. With information traveling so much faster these days, I think it’s hard for us to imagine what it was like for FDR and his administration to try to get a handle on the situation.
