Remember Pearl Harbor Sammy Kaye
History - in every century,
records an act that lives forevermore.
We’ll recall - as in to line we fall,
the thing that happened on Hawaii’s shore.

I’ll Be Seeing You - Bing Crosby
And when the night is new
I’ll be looking at the moon
But I’ll be seeing you
This song was used in a movie of the same name in 1944 that starred Ginger Rogers. It was very popular during the war, and was sung by both British and American soldiers dreaming of home.

hmmm… New Hampshire coeds drilling in the snow. Must have been chilly!
by Lamar Q. Ball for the Atlanta Constitution
Friday, December 4, 1942
As the visiting paratroopers, in muddy uniforms, swarmed the streets of Atlanta last night, pedestrians asked:
“Can this be that Army War Show they’ve been advertising?”
It wasn’t.
The Army War Show will be on December 16th.
This was just the paratroopers winding up a day’s work, trying to get a glimpse of Atlanta, after a long, hard siege in Toccoa.
First, an Army War Show? Awesome!
Second, I love how Sink thought it would be a good idea to march on Atlanta. Eight decades prior marches to Atlanta hadn’t ended in such merry circumstances…
Third, imagine these guys running around downtown Atlanta. That must have been a sight to see!
I imagine having to watch this girl on the silver screen would have been painful for many a G.I. stationed all over the world during the war…
