My mom said that when they finally arrived at Auschwitz and got off the train, there was an eerie stillness in the air. One of those feelings on the back of your neck that you can't explain. She said that "no birds sang there".

Klaus Shuh and Otto Funk were born in 1926. When Hitler came to power, like most boys their age, they joined the Hitler Youth.
